Lawn care & landscaping
in Lakeville, MN
Every route we run starts and ends in Lakeville, which changes what we can offer here that we can't offer at the edge of the map. Same-week starts are normal rather than lucky. If a storm drops a limb across your driveway on a Tuesday, we are minutes away rather than a county over. And because the shop is here, Lakeville properties get first call on the schedule when weather compresses a week.
It also means we already know most of these lots. Lakeville is a city of two eras stitched together — the older grid around Holyoke Avenue and the lakes, where the trees have had fifty years to get big, and the newer developments east of Cedar and out toward Airlake, where the sod is young, the irrigation is aggressive and the grade is still settling. Those two halves need genuinely different work, and pricing them the same is how contractors end up cutting corners on one to survive the other.

What Lakeville yards actually do
The lake neighborhoods — Orchard Lake, Lake Marion, Crystal Lake — sit on rolling ground with mature canopy, which means shade-thinned turf under the oaks, heavy leaf load in October, and beds that want to creep every year as the trees widen. We mow those higher than a wide-open lot, because turf competing with tree roots for water loses if you scalp it.
The newer east and south developments have the opposite problem. Full sun, thin topsoil over glacial sand and gravel, and builder-grade sod laid fast. Those lawns dry out first in August and show mower stress before anything on the west side does. They also settle for two or three years after the build, which is where most of our regrading and drainage work comes from.
Across the whole city we plan for zone 4b–5a: nothing goes in the ground that can't take a bad February, and hardscape gets a compacted base deep enough to ride out freeze-thaw instead of heaving into a trip hazard by year three.

What Lakeville yards need most
Weekly mowing
Lakeville is the anchor of every route we run, so mow days here are the most stable on the schedule. Same crew, same day, all season — and we're close enough to catch you up the next morning when a Thursday storm blows out a Thursday route.
Fall cleanups
The mature oak and maple canopy around the lakes drops more leaf volume than anywhere else we work, and it drops late. We schedule Lakeville cleanups in two passes rather than one, because a single October visit here just means you rake the rest yourself in November.
Snow removal
Being local is worth the most at 4am. Lakeville drives and walks get cleared on the first pass of the route, before the school run, because we're not driving in from somewhere else to start.
The Lakeville
year.
We work to the ground, not to a date on a calendar.
- Spring cleanup and first cut: early-to-mid April, as soon as the ground firms up enough not to rut.
- Mowing season: roughly mid-April through late October, weekly, skipped when growth doesn't justify a visit.
- Fall: two-pass cleanup through late October and into November, timed to the oaks rather than the calendar.
- Winter: snow route runs on trigger depth, overnight and early morning.

Lakeville
questions.
Are you actually based in Lakeville?+
Yes. Lofton runs out of Lakeville — it's where the equipment is stored and where every route starts. There's no regional office in another city dispatching a subcontractor to your address.
How fast can you start in Lakeville?+
Usually the same week. Lakeville is the tightest part of our route, so slotting a new property in rarely costs us drive time. Send the address and you'll have a flat number back within 24 hours.
Do you handle the older lake-area lots with big trees?+
Those are some of our favorite properties. Shaded turf gets mowed higher, leaf cleanups are scheduled in two passes instead of one, and bed edges get re-cut every spring as the canopy widens.
